Snape Village In the big picture the best approach is off the A 1 at the Leeming Bar Junction, through Aiskew to Bedale. In Bedale follow signs to Masham and about onemile out of Bedale turn left to Snape and the Arboretum at Thorp Perrow. Both are signposted.
Go on past the Aboretum , over King’s Keld (a bend and blind summit in the trees - please be careful !) ask yourself - Did Henry 8th really fall off his horse there?, local folklore says he did! Just after that you will see Snape Castle to your left. Turn left at the sign, go through the avenue of Lime Trees and shortly after the bend you will see the

Thorp Perrow Car Rally 2006 The route to the grounds of Thorp Perrow House will be clearly signposted from the A1, Leeming Bar Junction. The route enters the grounds through Firby Village, there is no other way in.
Anyone coming from a direction other than the A1 should head towards Bedale, all routes will have signs leading you to the entrance at Firby
You will not be able /allowed to get to the Rally from the Arboretum.
The route out of the Rally will be signposted and lead you back to Bedale and the A1
